Life in a Peacock Nest - a New Novel from Dianne Krogh
My husband would tell you it took 20 years and thousands of dollars worth of coffee to get it done. But that isn't quite true. Most of that time was spent thinking about it. The idea to do a novel about greed and ego took root in my mind long ago.
But those were the days of 50-hour work weeks, carpools to drive, meals to prepare, and trying to stay upright in the happy chaos of a household with a husband, a teenage son, a dog, a cat, and a bossy Parrot. Erma Bombeck was my hero.
This year, I picked up the notes and seriously began. I love writing. That was fun. But publishing was an experience that sent me running to the aspirin bottle on more than one occasion. I am more of a right brain person.
I wanted this website to provide a place for new authors to turn for support and encouragement from authors who have traveled the self-publishing path. A place to go in lieu of the aspirin.
I’ve always loved words. Their power to elicit emotion. To tell a story. To create understanding. Or to persuade. I’ve used them for all those things over the years.
After getting a degree in journalism and a master’s degree in communication, I spent many happy years writing advertising copy, producing corporate communications, and creating publications for clients of my public relations group.
Now with time to let the words flow in whatever direction my mind takes me, I have published my first novel, Life in a Peacock Nest.
My mind is off on another journey already. I am working on a new book. Stay tuned.
I am excited to hear about Book Clubs which are discussing my book. I am accepting invitations to join them for their discussions whenever they are local and my schedule allows. I love to talk with readers. I have also provided a list of questions for Book Club Discussions.
